Founded in 1997 by the acclaimed Canadian choreographer, dancer and teacher to support the continued creation and preservation of his repertoire, David Earle’s company serves as a forum for artists whose concern is the expression of humanity in dance.
DtDE gave its first performance in 1997 in collaboration with the Penderecki String Quartet. Since then, the company has presented more than 50 new works, including commissions for performances with the PSQ, Soundstreams, Rosedale Concerts, the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, NUMUS, Tactus, the Guelph Chamber Choir, and the Gryphon Trio. The company has performed throughout Ontario, across Canada, and internationally.
In 2001, the company established studios in Guelph, Ontario, as a centre for the in-depth study of the unique dance language that David Earle has developed throughout his career.

Inspired by a musical composition of the same name by Raymond Luedeke, David Earle's Tango Dreams, in nine scenes, depicts a tale of addiction to the dance of darkness. Danielle Baskerville, supported by other members of the Dancetheatre David Earle company in this surrealist fantasy, is a young woman seduced by the intoxicating lure of the tango. From Sideshow to Cabaret, through seasons, through Love, through years - the dance leads on.
